 Race Track, Not Street Announces Exciting Drag Racing Lineup for the 2022 Racing Season

Calverton, NY – August 11, 2022 – The excitement, sights, sounds and pure adrenaline rush of drag racing roars once again onto Long Island as Race Track, Not Street, announces the exciting lineup of races for the 2022 Summer and Fall season. Beginning Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 21st, 2022, and running weekends through the fall, spectators will be able to watch America’s Other Favorite Pastime – Car Racing – at Long Island’s only National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) sanctioned raceway located at Enterprise Park Calverton (EPCAL), 4062 Grumman Boulevard, in Calverton, NY. “We are excited to once again bring legal drag racing home to fans on Long Island,” says Pete Scalzo, Race Track, Not Street organizer. “This is an opportunity to come and enjoy the thrill of safe, legal drag racing on Long Island – whether you’re a fan or a competitor.” 

Wide Variety of cars and drivers 
This event is designed for race cars and street legal cars alike.  All race cars require mufflers and proper safety equipment. August 20th will feature “Invasion of the Buggies,” September 3rd features “Jr Dragster Bragster Event,” September 9th and 10th will feature “Beat The Heat.” Want to race a cop and NOT get arrested? Beat the HEAT, Inc. is a national non-profit organization comprised of Police Officers and Firefighters who conduct educational programs using marked emergency vehicle drag cars to gain the interest of the public. Heat Members develop programs and activities to serve their individual communities using the Goals of Beat the Heat, Inc. as a guide.  

Safety First 

The track includes over 2,600 ft. of concrete highway “Jersey” barriers, 1,700 ft. of metal crowd control fencing plus an advanced timing system, scoreboards, PA system, command center, portable toilets, and electric generators. Food trucks from many of Long Island’s favorite vendors will also be on hand.

WHAT: Drag Racing comes back to Long Island for the 2022 Season – Summer and Fall. 
WHERE: Enterprise Park Calverton (EPCAL), 4062 Grumman Boulevard, in Calverton, NY 

WHEN: There are two remaining series for 2022, Summer and Fall: 

Summer Series: Saturdays gates open at 1:00 PM; “Hot Track” from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM; Dates: August 20, 27, September 3, Friday 9 and Saturday 10.  

Sundays gates open at 8:00 AM; “Hot Track” from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Dates: August 21, 28, September 4. Closed Sunday, September 11 in Honor of 9/11. 

Fall Series: Saturdays and Sundays gates open at 8:00 AM; “Hot Track” from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Dates: September 24, 25, October 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16.

In 2019 I was introduced to a whole new world. Decades working in corporate America has made it very clear that a combnination of passion, talent and perserverance will ultimately lead to a successful career. In 2019 I lead a panel discussion which led me to the idea that a Long Island Motorpsorts Park would be a career catalyst for our High School students. Virtually every activity I am involved with is further the idea that exposing our students to a wide variety of career possiblities.
